Descripción
Women’s eNews will capture the culmination of a month’s focus on the endemic and constant means of controlling women: domestic violence.
Women's eNews is convening an informal panel of grassroots activists, political agitators, journalists, bloggers and domestic violence survivors to imagine together the next steps required to save women's lives and reduce the level of violence so many women and families live with routinely.
Featuring perspectives from Jane Randal, from Liz Claiborne’s Love is not Abuse teen domestic violence program; CarlLa Horton, executive director of Hope’s Door (formerly Northern Westchester Shelter); Grace Perez, coordinator of the annual New York Latinas Against Domestic Violence Brides March and Kalima DeSuze, Lead Community Organizer from the Voices of Women Organizing Project.
The event will leave participants with the challenge to go beyond developing awareness and providing services to develop effective new strategies to improve the lives of women and children across all communities.
Limited Space, please RSVP: charlotte@womensenews.org
