The Scavenger Hunt is a lot of fun. We break the group up into teams; typically it’s about 5 or so people per team. It usually takes about 45 – 60 minutes to do the Scavenger Hunt and go over the results. The Scavenger Hunt we have is 22 questions and you have to search all over the attraction for the answers. Participants will be able to explore the museum afterwards as well.

Georgetown Program Board A delightfully dark evening, mtvU’s Ulalume (named after an ever-creepy Edgar Allan Poe poem) is all about awesome music and eerie fun. With great rock sets from Paramore, AFI, and Dead By Sunrise (featuring Chester Bennington of Linkin Park), and some hot hip-hop from Kid Cudi and Asher Roth, the festival’s music acts ... are enough of a reason to show up. It is taking place at Merriweather Post Pavilian in Columbia, MD.

There is $2500 costume contest, fun attractions, and the fact that it’s all being taped for an MTV special on October 30, all seal the deal on what will be a stupendously spooky affair. There is a bus for students and tickets are $5 (including transportation!!). You can buy your ticket at Red Square Tuesday through Friday from 11pm to 3pm ( in the Leavey center in case of rain or cold weather).

Each ticket guarantees a seat on the free buses that will be leaving from the McDonough Gym at 5pm on Friday!

Georgetown Program Board The Welcome Week Committee and Georgetown Program Board (GPB) present THE BEST COMEDY SHOW EVER! This show will feature Best Week Ever and Chappelle Show's Christian Finnegan, along with NBC Last Comic Standing's Adam Hunter, and up-and-coming comic Cleveland will serve as MC. We wanted the show to be accessible to all ... students, and thus tickets will only be $3 with your GoCard. Tickets WILL sell out, but your first chance to score tickets will be at SAC Fair on the front lawn on Sept. 6. Look for the GPB table, and tickets will be available there. If you cannot make it, you can send a friend with your GoCard. The other chances to buy tickets will be in Red Square on 9/10 and 9/11 where we will be tabling.
**If you have questions, please email guwelcomeweek@georgetown.edu**

CHRISTIAN FINNEGAN iis a stand up comedian. He appears frequently on the television and also writes things, for both money and for kicks. Christian is perhaps best known as one of the original cast members of VH1’s “Best Week Ever”, where he offered keen insight into the workings of popular culture and the ubiquity of celebrity genitalia. “Chappelle’s Show” fans will recognize him as ‘Chad’, the only white roommate in the infamous “Mad Real World” sketch. And pinko Communists know Christian from his regular appearances on MSNBC’s “Countdown with Keith Olbermann”. Christian Finnegan is a fixture (some might say ‘barnacle’) on Comedy Central, having starred in countless network interstitials, the shows “Premium Blend” and “Tough Crowd with Colin Quinn” and in his own special, “Comedy Central Presents: Christian Finnegan”. Christian was also the host of TV Land’s “Game Time” and has appeared on “The Today Show” and “The Late Late Show with Craig Ferguson”.

ADAM HUNTER is one of the hottest young comedians around today. He is full of exciting energy that makes the crowd go wild. He headlines all over the country, putting his heart and soul into every performance with an act that is brash, deep and most importantly funny. Adam is one of the hardest working comics around, performing every night of the week, usually 2 or 3 shows a night. His act is universal, night after night, Adam delivers a powerful message that keeps audiences on the edges of their seats. Hunter’s World is a talk show hosted by Adam Hunter (Showtime, MTV, VH1, E!) that will feature the top stand up comics from across the country.

Welcome Week is an annual university tradition that is meant to welcome all students to campus through the various interactive events put on by university departments and student organizations to show the commitment to the Jesuit ideals of diversity and inclusion. Welcome Week aims to achieve that goal by creating a master calendar of all events that take place during the first ten days of the academic year as well as planning separate events to welcome back the community. Please check out our schedule of events on our website: csp.georgetown.edu/welcome
