Festival Kick-off at Winery Dec. 5
Jazz and wine connoisseurs will get the best of both worlds at a special Wawawai Canyon Winery event on Friday, Dec. 5. The Lionel Hampton International Jazz Festival will offer two festival preview treats beginning at 6 p.m.
Festival Artistic Director John Clayton will be on hand to fo ...rmally kick-off the 2009 lineup. Contemporary jazz vocalist Rachel Bade-McMurphy, twice chosen as an outstanding college soloist at the jazz festival, will perform during the special event.
The winery also will offer a barrel tasting of the 2009 Lionel Hampton International Jazz Festival specially blended wine. The first 20 attendees will receive a free glass of house wine.
The event is free and open to the public; appetizers will be served. The winery is located at 5602 State Route 270, between Moscow and Pullman, Wash.
This event will be the final opportunity for festival supporters to purchase tickets in advance of general ticket sales.
