THE COMPETITIVE / ADVENTURE
Each team will be tested on their ability to overcome various obstacles along the way. Points gained will be on the fastest time. Penalty for infringement of safety and environmental rules. Overcoming the obstacles with recovery work will be emphasi ...zed.
If you have the passion of living out your 4x4 passion, have the correct mindset and attitude for a jungle adventure and love meeting up with fellow 4x4 adventurers from around the world - then the Rainforest Challenge is for you.
Be forewarned : This event is not for the faint hearted. Mother Nature rules supreme, event schedule is subject to the awesome might of nature.
THE 4X4 VEHICLES / CATEGORIES
Any make or model of vehicle is allowed. Modifications allowed as per Rules and Regulations.
• Overall Champion (open to all classes)
• Champion Electric Winch Class.
• Champion PTO Class
• Champion under 2,000 cc (2 liter) Class.
• Champion 2,000 -3,000 cc (2-3 liter) Class (Petrol)
• Champion 2,000-3,000 cc (2-3 liter) Class (Diesel)
• Champion above 3,000 cc (3 liter) Class
• Champion Portal Axle Class.
THE TROPHY AND AWARDS
Overall Champion, Class winners, Charlie Chandran Camaraderia Award, Team Spirit Award, Jungleman Award, Environment Award, Ladies Team, Most Unique 4x4 and Special Awards.
CHARLIE CHANDRAN CAMARADERIA AWARD
This award is for an individual who is socially active, has no malice, is likeable by everyone and is a livewire in any social function as embodied by Charlie Chandran himself, dearly missed but not forgotten.
ENTRY FEE
COMPETITOR
USD2,500 per 4x4 vehicle (of two persons).
This applies to all Competitor Teams, Support Crew Vehicle or Touring Vehicle arriving at Port Klang.
Deposit (non refundable) : USD300 per vehicle is required to book your entry.
Entitlements :-
• Special Application/Permits/Procedures for foreign registered vehicles for entry/use in
Malaysia from Port Klang.
• Two pre-event hotel nights (Kuala Lumpur and at the Opening Ceremony venue)
• Two post-event hotel nights (Closing/Awards venue and in Kuala Lumpur)
• Trailer service from Port Klang to hotel in Kuala Lumpur and return
• Trailer service from hotel in Kuala Lumpur to Johor (Opening Ceremony venue)and return.
• Competition License from MAM (Motorsports Association of Malaysia)
• Event Insurance
• Vehicle insurance in Malaysia

Note : Extra person in Suppport Car or Touring Vehicle is charged at USD800 per person. Maximum 4 persons in one vehicle.

Motorbike and ATV
USD1,800 per motorbike and ATV Entry with same entitlements as 4x4 and 6x6.

TOURING ADVENTURER IN RFC VEHICLE
Entry fee of USD1,000 per person
Seated in our support or media vehicle to see the happenings and take part in the adventure.
Deposit (non refundable) : USD300 per person is required to book your entry.
Entitled to 2 pre-event and 2 post-event hotel accommodation nights and event entittlements.
SPECIAL CLAUSE FOR TOURING ADVENTURER SPECTATOR
The support vehicle will only carry your personal belongings and provide shelter under a tarpaulin. Bring your own campbed and utensils and share in the cost of meals preparation with the participants/media in this category. Your own water/dry rations. Support vehicle will not be responsible for any lost baggage or personal items. You are responsible to take care of your personal belongings.

Competitors and all those bringing their vehicles for touring - Please submit the following items to the Secretariat as early as possible (2-3 months before the event date). If you have any query on your documentation, please consult the RFC Secretariat.

SUPPORTERS PACKAGE
All supporters and family members are welcome to witness the pre-event happenings (see modified 4x4 from around the world, scrutineering of vehicles) opening ceremony and the Prologue Special Stages. See the opening ceremony and the first two day’s Prologue Special Stages then head off for your own holidays or join the convoy at special designated places. Standard Package 5 Days 4 Nights from USD500 per person on twin-sharing basis. Final rates to be confirmed later.
VEHICLE FOR HIRE
Limited choices and upon request only. Hire rate ranges from USD5,000 - USD7,000.
DRIVING LICENSE
Compulsory. Issued by any motoring authority and recognized under the Motor Traffic Act of Malaysia. Apply for an International license in your country. Please consult RFC Secretariat if you have any problem with this.
COMPETITION LICENSE
All competitors must have the MAM (Motorsports Association of Malaysia) competitor’s license which is included in the entry fee.
CARNET
Compulsory. Please apply for ATA carnet from your country, through the Chambers of Commerce. Without Carnet : Face temporary import duty charges. Application for refundable Bank Guarantee (BG) required for Malaysian Customs. This will be returned upon shipping of vehicle out of Malaysia. BG must be done with Malaysian bank. Administrative and bank charges will be levied for such service.
Please mail your original Carnet to APM Global Logistics Services Sdn Bhd (Damco) with consignee as Future Oracle Sdn Bhd (the organizer) to ensure a smooth collection of your vehicles from the Customs at the port.

All participants must take a beginners First Aid Course in their country of origin.
ACCREDITED FOREIGN PRESS
Entitled to 2 pre-event and 2 post-event hotel accommodation nights and event entitlements. By invitation only and limited quota per country. Conditional upon able to publish and/or telecast the event in own country. Please write to RFC Secretariat for accreditation. Entry conditions in the event will be the same as Touring Adventurer.

RIGHTS OF ORGANISER
The organizer reserves the right to amend, change or cancel the route or schedule as well as the Rules and Regulations as and when is necessary. The organizer can also cancel the event upon prior notice.
INDEMNITY
All participants will have to sign an indemnity, which is included in the application form before embarking on the adventure. Participants will be barred from joining the event if they fail to do so.
The organizer, creator/founder, owner, its sponsors, representatives, officials, marshals, servants or anyone appointed to the event by the organizer is exempted from any responsibility of any kind of any mishaps, death, loss, injury or damage to property, vehicle and personal belongings of the participants.
Be forewarned. Mother Nature does not respect our timing and programme.

Hotel Equatorial, Kuala Lumpur. Welcome Party : Big Bang Night.
D MINUS 1

Departure for Johor Bahru. Night Briefing at official hotel.
D-Day & Prologue SS.
5 December
Opening Ceremony at Danga Bay by VIP followed by Prologue SS.
Night in Johor Bahru.
6 December
Continuation of Prologue SS and head for campsite.

7 December
Transport day to Hulu Sedili Forest Reserve. Light, medium to tough jungle transport stages. Campsite 2: Sg (river) Hulu Sedili Besar aka The Stony River.
