The anniversary and the status granted to Vilnius is significant recognition and unique opportunity to show the world what we are and what is special about us, present ourselves, ...our achievements, and attract attention.
In order to spread the word about our country and its capital, we have prepared the Ambassador Programme, which aims to market Vilnius and Lithuania around the globe.
The first one to start this mission was Lithuanian Grand Duke Gediminas who in 14th century wrote letters to people of European cities, inviting them to come to Vilnius. Ambassadors of Vilnius as the European Capital of Culture are continuing the mission – they invite those who have never been here to come and those who have left to come back. They also spread good news about our outstanding country and efficiently represent it.
