Mackenzie Andersen I saw Eliot Spitzer on Cspan last night -talking about the governance of corporations. He said that the ratio between what a CEO makes and what an ordinary worker makes was 40-1 in the 1980's and 550-1 today.

In relation to the above he said, "You cannot socialize the risk and privatize the gain". If Federal grant money... is being channeled to private investors, as appears to be the case with Maine's Small Business Growth Fund, which is 10% funded by the government, and if these funds are not structured such that the taxpayer is also an investor, then The SBGF socializes the risk and privatizes the gain.

Mackenzie Andersen Public/Private Collaboration but not for all:

After I attended the eyeopening Juice Conference Pitch session I submitted the following letter to my State legilatures and my local News paper:

SUBMITTED AS LETTER TO THE EDITOR OF THE BOOTHBAY REGISTER

Dear Senator Trahan and Representative Bruce McDonald,

I wrote to you coup...le of days ago about The Small Business Growth Fund.

This fund was created in 1995 and appears to be a state government investment in private entreprership for high growth companies doing "public good" (which raises the question who decides what is for the "public good"-does the taxpayer have a voice in this or just the fund managers ?) <a href="http://asblogz.blogspot.com/

Mackenzie Andersen Link to My Pitch for The Juice Converence- I prayed that I would be in the "zone" when I delivered it and my prayers were answered. It went perfectly and the panelist said "excellent: - :You have a great vision and good luck" but did not select me to present my vision to the next round and a larger group.

Ironically, the company in my group that was selected over me is "solving the problem" of allegedly toxic athletic Tshirts by creating a a non toxic Tshirt. Ceramics has never been shown to be toxic so it is not possible for me to claim I am solving a similar problem. The high growth potential of this company is that it will ultimately seel its ... Mackenzie Andersen The Juice Conference- There is no creative class- It's everywhere!

I gave my pitch at the Juice Conference to a response of “Excellent” but I didn’t make it to the semi-finals. I watched about three fourths of the semi-finalist pitches. They were mostly “high growth” and politically correct “green” companies, patterned... on policies set by Washington- favoring the same companies working towards “social goodness’ as benefited through the Stimulus Bill. I believe that businesses that are not “high growth” didn’t really stand a chance at winning the grant. But maybe in my premature departure, I missed the exception to the rule. Read More

Nocola

Η Nocola Hi! We've added you to our favorites! Please add us and keep us updated on your news and events!

Four girlfriends joined millions of women across America in full glam, with flawless faces, designer dresses and their “almighty stilettos”, to attend the launch of “Sex and the City" May 2008. What began as a fun and flirty girl’s night out in the city, inspired a vis...ion of purpose, sisterhood, and empowerment for modern career women across the globe, and will forever represent throughout the history of our organization as the spark behind the evolution of the CEO to the SheEO. SheEO Professional Women’s Alliance (SheEO), was founded during the collapse of the economy in July 2008. We are dedicated to protecting the interests of women's business enterprise, and assisting the advancement of women across the globe. While building a coalition of entrepreneurs, small business owners, and industry professionals, we are establishing life-long relationships and working towards our mutual success. Through collaborative career development, competency training, and work-life support, we collectively share our knowledge, resources, and challenges on a platform of professional sorority. Through the SheEO Alliance, we are also recruiting and mentoring the future generation of inspirational and influential women. Currently we are recruiting a membership of one million volunteers by 2012, which will also be utilized to empower and engage at-risk youth with untapped potential, teens and young adults. Through a curriculum-based internship and leadership outreach program for girls, SheEO is fostering the growth of communities and cultivating innovators of change. SheEO is positioning to quickly become the world's leading small business incubator, full-service resource pool, and girlfriend circle for modern and ambitious career women who are eager to serve as an iconic representation of true leadership across the world. Our mission serves a true purpose to every business woman in every industry sector, and in every stage of their lives and careers; and our aggressive platform of work will soon become recognized as the face and the new role of leadership globally. ---------------------------------------------------------------------- SheEO has identified objectives to be addressed to support member recruitment and the programs of our organization: :: Establish and receive 501(c)3 tax exempt status by July 2010. :: Mobilize a network of 1 million supporters and community constituents by 2012 to support the professional growth, development, and advancement of working women. :: Identify the immediate needs and concerns of women, and to understand how these issues affect work-life stability and the professional advancement of working women across the globe. :: Work to provide adequate resources and solutions to protect the interests of women's business enterprise and career development through education, innovation and technology. :: Shape and promote new and effective channels of communication among women through dialogue, knowledge sharing, bartering, and strategic partnering; and aggressively working to share our cultures and views on a global platform of sorority. :: Through our network of volunteers,to partner and collaborate with public schools to address the critical needs of young women and girls, and to sponsor and promote programs that encourage and engage our future generations of leaders. :: Form strategic alliances and partnerships with corporations, philanthropists, and academic institutions to support our mission, programs, and global initiatives.
