Friday Late at the V&A
Friday Late is a series of free unique themed events celebrating contemporary culture from fashion to film, graphics to gardens and architecture to animation. Held on the last Friday of every month, Friday Late transforms the V&A into a place to explore and participate, debate and socialise or just chill out and listen to music with a drink from the late bar.

Vishnu as Varaha with Bhu Devi the Earth Goddess
Sculpture, India, pre 17th century. V&A Museum no. IM.6-1924. Varaha, with boar's head and human body representing the third Avatara of Vishnu, seated on an oval lotus-base pedestal with Bhu Devi the Earth Godess on his left knee. Varaha is four-armed, while the lower arms embrace the godess, the upper right holds the wheel (cakra) and the upper left olds the conch (sankha).
